EveTalks is a “no-holds-barred” commentary, dialogue and revolution. It is a platform dedicated to the unique voices and compelling untold stories of women who represent those invisible intersections that ‘society’ pretends don’t exist.
I invite you to join the dialogue – as a reader, follow EveTalks and be notified when the next post drops; or share your story, in our EveTalks docu-series.
I began writing as a little girl, in the 1970’s, under the influence of Nikki Giovanni, Ntosake Shange, Maya Angelou, the Black Power Movement and the Women’s Movement. As with many writers, my first words were poetry. I went on to a career as a psychotherapist who created opportunities to write at every turn. I ventured into self-help, writing on issues that impact women.
Over the decades, I have had an opportunity to explore myself as a writer across genres – from history books, to a Sunday column, personal essays, commercials, and screenplays. I love this craft, and continue in my quest to share stories and express myself anew, with every effort.
My goal, as always, is to tell stories with depth and substance that go beyond the limited media characterizations and expose and give voice to women whose perspectives have long been ignored.
It’s time to break the silence. So grab your wine and chocolate!
Let the testimony begin….
